Shoes-spired #3

My current most comfortable heels that is versatile enough to bring me from the boardroom to a wedding. I was so crazy over the khaki-cream color combi that I realized that I had no black colored shoes in quite a while. Trying to space out the frequency of wear so this can remain newish looking for a long time.

Was chatting with Z on my obsession of red lips lately and she asked if I have any photos to show. Took the opportunity to do so during a recent wedding.

Shoes-spired #2

Obsessed with white covered flats. My go to shoes for Friday smart casual dress code at work. Got it at a steal from sis-in-law US trip. Thinking of joining them for their next yearly pilgrimage and bring back half of the factory outlets :)_

Shoes-spired!

My latest youtube guru/blog obsession: Chriselle Lim. Got to know about her from Michelle Phan's youtube video, subscribed to her channel and never looked back. Her videos are well directed, well made and full of dress up tips that are so easy to follow. Her latest post "Shoe-flections" which is about her past year of shoes adventure inspired this post.

I have an embarrassingly small collection of shoes (small enough for a guy friend to comment on that, and he is not gay) and after complaining EVERY morning to Yong that I need more shoes, I went out to buy four pairs. That will last me a good half year I supposed (my last shoes purchase was half year ago!). This purchase would almost doubled my shoes collection - so do your math! hehe.. The saving grace is that I love every single pair. So let my gushing begin....

First up, my lovely leopard print shoes that I have been careful not to wear too often in case it gets worn out fast. Super comfortable. Super sexy. And easy to match my recent khaki + white clothes craze. And most importantly - goes with my latest bag splurge. \^__^/

I want a Silvana...

No.. not the Italian screen siren, Silvana Mangano, but the Fendi bag named after her. I have been googling, reading, re-reading and agreeing fervently on blog posts that gush and swoon over how classic yet versatile this gorgeous bag is. My fashion guru colleague urged me to go down to the store to take a look myself because he is convinced that the F logo on the strap cheapens the bag. Any gals familiar with this bag agree? Another quip I have about this bag is that even though it looks pretty versatile, one still have to look relatively smart casual to carry this off, no? So that means a no-no for the usual T-shirt and shorts outfits I don in over weekends. Hmm...

Anyhow, check out the pictures of this beautiful baby.. I love the color blocking of the SS11 collection, especially this one:

But i don't mind this...

And this, croc version of the first silvana above, seen on SJP...

And last but not the least, my fav fav fav version in glorious seventies vintage chic..

Alas the fashion guru says the above version is easily replicated and he predicts that before long, replica of it will be all over town.

Mentioned my awe for Stickgal's talent some posts ago. Bought the book shortly but dragged till now to take photo of it.

Coincidentally she is having a charity book sales till 23rd Dec where $10 is donated to Operation Smile for every book sold. Her book makes great gift so hurry if you want to make it in time for Xmas.

Oh, and no, I don't know Ms Stickgal nor doing advertisement for her. Just wanna spread the good word about her book which brought me much joy.

It has been a crazy crazy month. There was the wedding. Then the mad rush to come back for the funeral. 3 different continents in 5 days. Probably spent as much time in the airport and plane as on the ground in that single week. Loads of tears. Ironically, both happy and sad.

Then insanely Busy busy busy work weeks. And now preparing for yet another trip on Sunday. Gosh, I feel liked a year has passed through October already. Strangely, instead of feeling flat out, I am feeling more alive and energized than ever. Praise the lord for his grace.

Oh, and a marriage proposal managed to find its way into the happenings. And I had a really funny episode with my girls, for we were all dumbfounded when asked what kind of diamonds the recipient would like. Liked myself, all my gals can’t care less for the sparkles and were completely clueless on the technicalities. Needless to say, the poor guy was pushed to Yong for diamond consultation.

We did eventually get a sense of what rings the single gals would prefer but in my wise mum’s words “who goes around with a  magnifying glass asking the details about the diamonds!?" Love my mum and her one-liners.

And talking about sparkles… I have been thinking of getting new bag for the longest time. My Coccinelle has and is still serving me well. (lovely bag really, have to give it to the Italian for their leather bags) but it has been 4 long years. And it is certainly HIGH time for some change.

Got this from my flying fiasco week. I bought it on impulse and upon knowing the prices back home, my jaw dropped. Moral of the story: Stock up on your Mulberry when at Heathrow Airport.

Today I learn something.

That words are reflections of oneself.

I was pissed off by some unkind words. A mixture of narcissism, wild imagination and spiteful glee.

Then my mum reminded me that the real damage done is not really on me but to the owner of these very words. It only goes to reveal her personality and grace, or rather, lack of it.

Have you been hurt by mean comments recently too? Hope this little philosophical advice would soothe your heart as well.

Something to brighten up your day. Check out this wonderful Etsy shop by talented photographer AmeliaKay . Totally heart her photos - especially her series on food. They are just the way I like it - soft soothing colours with abit of a vintage feel to it.

Check out my recent fabulous buy from her shop:

Conversation Pieces Latest Buys!

Can't resist putting up this post. I tagged it under "IwantIwantIwant" but the great thing is these did not stay in my wishlist indefinitely! *yeah*

Always love Conversation Pieces sense of fashion and the very reasonable price tag. They got so popular I managed to spot a couple of their dresses on the street! The shipping fee is VERY reasonable at US$10 worldwide. It is so easy to fall in love with the whimsy, flirty, easy style so had to exercise ALOT of control when I am in the shopping mood. Another big plus: you can shop without moving out of your room. How great is that? Browses tens of clothes without having to travel, squeeze with the crowd, queue for the fitting room, etc.. Ya, I am that lazy. :P

Anyhow, with CNY round the corner, and absolutely NO time to shop, I jumped on their sweets for sweet promo which is a steal at US$80 for any three pieces of their dresses, tops, bottoms and accessories. But of cos, the popular pieces are already gone by the time I got to the pages. And mind you, it was only a couple hours passed the start of the promo.

Nonetheless, with furious clicks and swift typing of my credit card details, I nabbed these three pieces:

I love Etsy!

Etsy is a god send shopping site for those who love all things handmade. I rely alot on their Etsy Find newsletter which the editorial board selects etsy items by theme and send them to your inbox daily. It can get overwhelming scrolling through thousands of products (some rather absurd!) so lazy me would click on items I fancy and look at the other stuff their owners are selling.

Been looking out for the Etsy finds on home décor and organizing theme and bravo to Etsy editorial team, there is one just yesterday on organization nation

Been swooning over these:

Love the vintage lines and color. Will look great by the sofa or on study table.

Leather snap coupon pouch as it is named. Had a peek at the content my day bag. I think I need it quite badly.

The oh so cute letter holder. Sure to bring a much needed smile on my face when I place all the pending bills on it.

The down side of relying on these newsletter is that things featured get snapped up RIGHT AWAY. The newsletter reached my mailbox yesterday night, read it this morning and I am left to just fantasizing how they would look like in my life.

Henceforth, still an Etsy virgin buyer. Sigh..

Oh well, will stick to drooling over the pictures for now.
